Across the country there is a great disparity in the quality of care available for senior citizens, often within a single city. In these many medically underserved areas of the country, a normal primary care center is not going to address the breadth of issues that face today’s aging population. That’s why Sage Health, a new-to-market healthcare provider that exclusively serves senior citizens, came to CosciaMoos in search of an innovative approach.
As Sage seeks to roll out 11 wellness centers in 2023, we developed a prototype design and brand manual with architectural standards that could be quickly and smoothly replicable in any state. Potential sites for a wellness center are based on a variety of factors, but the most important is their accessibility to their local communities. When a space is found that might be a good fit, we perform a full site assessment to evaluate its viability for the program. We created multiple versions of the prototype design so that a wellness center can fit into a variety of different site layouts, allowing for a more flexible site selection process.
In addition to standard exam rooms, each Sage Health Senior Wellness Center is equipped with phlebotomy and bariatric treatment rooms, a training room, and laboratory. Dedicated spaces for social activities like community service and fitness programs exist as well, so seniors can find community at their local wellness centers.
CosciaMoos also provided interior design and FF&E specification services. The interior design is centered around a soft color palette, organic textures, and an overall biophilic design to provide a calming atmosphere. All furniture is coordinated through a single supplier, making the procurement process more efficient as Sage Health continues to roll out clinics over the course of the year.
