Client Jefferson Health

Location Washington Township, NJ

Scope 15,000 SF

The Fishpond II project involves fitting out 15,000 SF of shell space to create a multi-specialty outpatient clinic.

This project creates a new hospital-licensed outpatient center to support patients within the hospital’s service area. This location will provide services to patients in the following specialties:

      • general, vascular, and bariatic surgery
      • ear, nose, and throat
      • allergy
      • urology
      • gastroenterology
      • rhuemetology
      • dietary counseling

The scope also includes updated MEP systems including under-slab piping, new insulation for the exterior shell, and a new floor slab.

Since the specialties share a common provider, patients are able to enter into a spacious and well lit waiting area with single point check-in. The interior is organized around care pods for each specialty which includes four to six exam rooms paired with a procedure room. Jefferson Health expects the care team on site to flex throughout the week and over time, so exam and procedure rooms are designed to a common standard to the extent possible so that rooms can be allocated for staff present on site each day.

Work areas for medical assistants are aligned across a circulation spine that runs through the center of the floorplate to allow easy access throughout the facility. Also, shared physician touchdown rooms are arranged convenient to each pod to minimize travel time between seeing patients.

To support the clinical space, the facility contains a full phlebotomy lab with two draw stations, an infusion suite, two audio booths and hearing aid consult rooms, surgical scheduler offices, and large staff lounge area with separate staff entrance in addition to medication rooms, scope processing area, and clean/soiled workrooms.
