Located across the street from Berks Station, 1900 North Front Street provides convenient accessibility into Center City. Due to the scale and proximity of the nearby station, the elevated rail line drove the design of the project, as designers we were mindful that the building would be viewed at all angles. Inspired by the activity adjacent to the building, the bay design and window layouts were influenced by the stop and go movements on the platform.
On the ground floor, the angled massing was designed to open up the retail corner on North Front Street and West Berks Street by stepping back the facade.
The shifting bays above were used to create a covered entry and bring attention to the corner where the building begins to interact with the train. The building was also designed around a small courtyard, providing five private garden units. Residents will enjoy amenities including a lounge, gym, bike storage, laundry room, ground-level dog run, roof deck and full vegetated green roof.
