Client Penn Medicine

Location Kennett Square, PA

Scope 6,030 SF

This project involved complete reconfiguration and expansion of Penn Medicine’s Outpatient Imaging Center in Kennett Square, PA.

The expanded Center occupies the entire second floor of the building, while new radiographic equipment was installed in all exam rooms.

The overall patient flow was designed to separate CT & MRI areas from the US, Mammography, Bone Density, and Radiography Rooms with separate changing, gowned waiting, and holding areas. The Main Waiting/Reception Area was located and designed as the welcoming front entrance to the Suite. Finishes, lighting, and furnishings were selected to create a comforting and subdued environment. Challenges included development of strategic construction phasing to keep the existing Imaging Center fully operational during the work, and upgrading the building’s electrical service to support the new MRI and other imaging equipment.
