  • 1601 Market Street

The building at 1601 Market St. was purchased in 2008 by a private equity group that sought to reposition the building by renovating the office lobby and expanding the available retail space on the First and Second floors. The ultimate goal was to increase the building's footprint and street presence while improving the pedestrian and retail experience at street level. The proposed design fills in portions of a double height exterior arcade and plaza space with 37,000 SF of retail and commercial space, including a new restaurant with a 5,000 SF roof top dining terrace and a new second floor health club. The exterior skin is composed of a glass curtain wall along Market Street and 16th Streets and new limestone walls along 16th Street to distinguish the restaurant massing.

Project completed at Hillier Architecture.
